Are you a senior looking to connect, get involved or have something to say about what matters in your community?
South Kootenay Seniors wants to hear from you.
Older adults in Trail, Warfield, Rossland and surrounding communities have until Oct. 12 to complete a survey aimed at helping shape programs, services and activities for seniors across the region.
The survey, which takes around 15 minutes to complete, is designed to help the program understand who it is reaching, identify ways to improve existing programs and services, and guide future offerings based on community needs.

Questions cover a wide range of issues affecting older adults, from community activities and support services to social connection, safety and emergency preparedness.
The survey asks how connected respondents feel to their community, whether they experience isolation and what barriers — including health, accessibility, transportation and finances — may prevent them from participating more fully.
It also explores concerns about scams and fall hazards, support networks and preparedness for emergencies such as wildfires and evacuations.
Respondents can weigh in on workshops and other supports they would like to see, as well as whether the South Kootenay Seniors program helps them learn about local issues, share their perspectives through initiatives such as community accessibility surveys and participate in matters of public interest.
Responses are confidential and no identifying information is requested.
Paper copies of the survey are available at Trail City Hall, Warfield Village Office, Rossland City Hall and the Rossland Seniors Centre, where completed surveys can also be returned.
The survey is open to older adults in Rossland, Trail, Warfield and surrounding communities.
South Kootenay Seniors is the regional age-friendly program serving Trail, Warfield and Rossland. It connects older adults with programs, resources, activities and services intended to support healthy, active and engaged living.
The program works alongside other seniors’ services offered through organizations including the Trail and District Public Library, Trail FAIR Society and Lower Columbia Better at Home.
