The Campbell River Community Foundation (CRSF) aims to bring neighbours together, create connections and invest in the local community by providing support to local non-profits and charities through grants, leadership and advocacy.

Jan Sandholm, Board Vice-President, said the Foundation’s motto is “We Help People Help Others.”

“The CRCF was initiated in 1990, and over the past thirty plus years over 1.8 million dollars has been re-invested into the community, building vibrant futures for our community and neighbourhoods,” Sandholm said.

The foundation works in partnership with donors and local organizations focused on children’s wellness, mental health, housing, seniors’ care and education. Gifts from donors are endowed and invested in perpetuity, with annual revenues returned to the community.

The organization is currently seeking new board members, specifically individuals with backgrounds in law, marketing and communications, or strong ties to the local business community. The position requires a commitment of eight to 10 hours per month for board meetings, committee work and community events. Directors typically commit to three-year terms with annual check-ins.

“Community leadership is key to the success of the CRCF,” Sandholm said. “Foundation directors help build philanthropy in our community, supporting the work done by local volunteers.”

Interested applicants are invited to submit an email detailing their experience and how they align with the foundation’s values. More information is available at www.crfoundation.ca, or inquiries and expressions of interest can be sent to info@crfoundation.ca.
