Using a personal tablet, visitors can answer questions, make choices and help shape the direction of the show in real time.
The exhibit is designed to turn climate knowledge into action and inspire visitors to become change agents in their own communities.
“Science literacy starts with curiosity,” says Dione Chambers, Okanagan Science Centre executive director. “You don’t have to be a scientist to wonder how something works or try something for the first time. During Science Literacy Week, we’re inviting our community to come explore our hands-on exhibits, take in a planetarium show, experience our new climate exhibit, check out our programming and discover what the centre has to offer.”
This year’s national Science Literacy Week theme, Curiosity Unleashed, encourages Canadians to embrace the science woven into everyday life.
Presented by the Canadian Association of Science Centres, Science Literacy Week brings communities across Canada together to celebrate science and explore new ways of connecting people with science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics through events and activities taking place across the country.
Science Literacy Week takes place across Canada from Oct. 4 to 11, with more than 100 events happening nationwide.
