MacMaster, Leahy bring teen kids for Celtic Family Christmas concert in Surrey

Natalie MacMaster, Donnell Leahy and their growing musical family will be in Surrey to perform “A Celtic Family Christmas” concert this fall.
Live Nation Entertainment announced their show, to feature “exciting new versions of all your classic Christmas favourites,” for Sunday, Nov. 22 at Bell Performing Arts Centre. Tickets are sold starting 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18 on livenation.com.
In the early 2000s MacMaster and Leahy balanced raising seven musically gifted children, running a farm and performing over 75 shows a year. Now, with their children in their teens, they’re back on tour with a new Christmas-themed show.
Together, they’ve sold-out concert dates in North America and collaborated with stars like Yo-Yo Ma, Michael McDonald, Allison Krauss and Nickelback. See video and other details on natalieanddonnell.com.
Also this fall, Surrey’s Bell theatre is busy with several tribute concerts including This is Adele (Oct. 22), local Eagles showcase Take it to the Limit (Nov. 13), ABBA Christmas with ABBA Cadabra (Dec. 4), A Holly Jolly Christmas with Buddy Holly soundalike Zachary Stevenson (Dec. 8), the scripted Walk Like A Man musical celebrating Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons (Nov. 27) and The Music of Hans Zimmer and Others (Dec. 1, film music).
Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s popular Traditional Christmas concert is performed twice Saturday, Dec. 12, at 4 and 7:30 p.m.
