Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation announces new leader

A new face has been appointed to the helm of the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) following the announced departure of longtime leader Liz Harris.
Starting on Oct. 19, Leanna Kemp will serve as the new executive director of the foundation, which supports local health-care services throughout the Fraser Valley.
Prior to joining the FVHCF, Kemp spent 11 years in various leadership roles in the non-profit sector, including nine years as the head of the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce.
Kemp said she is excited to step into her new position and explore ways to increase the foundation’s effectiveness.
“I look forward to my role at the foundation and hope to accomplish an expanded donor base and build upon the growth of funding for health care needs throughout Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, and Hope,” said Kemp.
FVHCF board chair Cristen Gleeson said she’s thrilled to see where Kemp will take the foundation.
“Leanna’s deep commitment to our mission and proven track record in organizational leadership make her the ideal person to guide the foundation into its next chapter of growth and impact,” said Gleeson.
During the transitionary period, Harris will continue to serve in her executive director role, which she has held since 2015.
In the past decade, Harris has brought the foundation’s annual fundraising total from approximately $1.5 million to $4.25 million.
This money has been used to help purchase new equipment such as CT scanners, bariatric beds, and radiographic units, and has also allowed for vital expansions at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and other facilities within the FVHCF region.
