Alcohol believed to contribute to fatal Highway 3 crash near Osoyoos

RCMP is seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage of the events leading up to a fatal Sept. 19 crash on Highway 3 east of Osoyoos.
According to a release, police were called to the scene near Hewitt Road at around 4:20 p.m., after a vehicle went off the road and down the embankment.
The grey older-model Chevrolet Colorado, equipped with a ladder and boat rack, had been travelling westbound towards Osoyoos.
Investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
One of the occupants of the vehicle, a 23-year-old Penticton woman, succumbed to her injuries while being transported to Kelowna by ambulance. The other occupant was treated for injuries.
The RCMP did not indicate which occupant was driving at the time.
The investigation is currently seeking witnesses and video footage leading up to the crash, including the behaviour of the grey Chevrolet.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has footage of the vehicle in the hour leading up to the crash is asked to contact BC Highway Patrol in Keremeos at 250-499-2250.
