Body found near Slocan Lake identified

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed that human remains located near Slocan Lake in July have been identified as Thierry Brenon, who was reported missing on Feb. 2, 2025.
Slocan Lake RCMP say the remains were discovered approximately five kilometres north of Slocan Village.
They were examined by the BC Coroners Service and the identity of the deceased was confirmed through forensic and DNA analysis.
Police say there is no evidence to suggest criminality.
The Slocan Lake RCMP thanks the BC Coroners Service, search and rescue volunteers, Slocan Fire Rescue, and the community of Slocan for their “assistance, support, and cooperation throughout this lengthy investigation.”
