Canada Beyond Division campaign launches in Red Deer

The Canada Beyond Division campaign has been launched in Red Deer to encourage people to voice their support to keep Alberta in Canada.
Ayaz Bangash, Canada Beyond Division founder, was at the Red Deer Public Market on Saturday, Sept. 26 handing out referendum-specific lawn signs and flyers.
The referendum, set for Oct. 19, asks 10 questions, including: “Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”
“We need to be very loud and clear, and take a strong position,” said Bangash.
The campaign’s website states Canada Beyond Division supports “constitutional stability, Canadian unity, judicial independence, responsible public policy and fair treatment for everyone who legally calls Alberta home.” The campaign also recommends voting “no” on the other nine questions on this October’s referendum vote.
Canada Beyond Division is a registered Alberta referendum third-party advertiser registered with Elections Alberta. Roadside billboards that will be put up around the Red Deer area are being prepared as part of the campaign.
“We will also be going to different towns in Central Alberta. We’ll be reaching out across Alberta as well,” Bangash said.
“This is a grassroots campaign. We just started a few days ago, but we are already very active. We will be reaching out immediately to the rest of Central Alberta and major cities, like Calgary and Edmonton.”
