A house on Sutherland Avenue in Kelowna caught fire during the late hours of Friday, Sept. 25.
John Paskimin posted videos and pictures of the blaze to Facebook at 11:15 p.m. showing large plums of smoke coming from the roof of the house.
The Kelowna Fire Department (KFD) responded to the fire around 11 p.m. in the 700-block of Sutherland.
“The fire was extinguished with several hose lines and ventilated to remove smoke,” said platoon captain Micah Volk. “The home sustained significant damage.”
There were no injuries reported after a search of the building found nobody inside.
When Black Press Media arrived on scene Saturday morning, the house appeared to be boarded up, with damage to the roof.
The fire is deemed suspicious by KFD and is still under investigation.
