A massive Penticton fundraiser in support of the local SPCA will soon hit a milestone nearly a decade in the making.
With raising $250,000 in 10 years on his mind, carpenter Barry Zarudenec is leading efforts to bring the event to the Copper Mug Pub on Saturday, Nov. 7.
In the last nine years, Zarudenec brought the community together in raising $191,700 for the SPCA. To hit his ultimate goal, he’ll need to help raise $59,000 later this fall.
The event will feature a prime rib dinner, live music, dancing and live and silent auctions.
Cocktails are at 5 p.m. and dinner is served at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50.
Last year, the event raised a record $40,000, an amount of money that shatters the $26,000 raised in 2024.
All proceeds next month will be forwarded to the SPCA in Penticton.
To buy tickets to the event or make a donation, people can email Zarudenec at bzarudenec@gmail.com or text 250-809-4998.
People can also call the Copper Mug to secure their tickets by calling 250-493-2842.
