Kevin Acton could return as Lumby’s mayor, unless he is elected as area MLA for the provincial election.
Acton collected 75.1 per cent of the votes in the general municipal election Oct. 17.
But he is also running for the Conservative Party of BC to be MLA for Vernon-Lumby. If elected, he said he would pay for the by-election for mayor for Lumby.
In the municipal election, his competitor Bradley Weston took 24.9 per cent of the vote.
Elected to council are all acclaimed incumbents Geoff Bevan, Sherry Kineshanko, Lori Mindnich and Randal Ostafischuk.
