Bus strikes car in Vernon crash

An intersection that is becoming commonplace for crashes had another one Sunday, but this time it involved a transit bus.
The bus struck a vehicle at 41st Street and 27th Avenue around 12 p.m. Sept. 13.
“The Nissan was travelling southbound on 41st Street when it signalled and then suddenly changed direction, and was struck on the passenger side by the bus as it crossed through the intersection,” said Cpl. Chris Terleski, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media relations officer.
The passenger in the SUV needed to be extricated from the vehicle by Vernon Fire Rescue Services and was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
