Campbell River celebrates National Breastfeeding Week at Latch-On event

Families, caregivers and community members are invited to a free Latch-On event next week as part of National Breastfeeding Week.
The event, open to anyone who is breastfeeding, chestfeeding, pumping or expressing, takes place Thursday, Oct. 1 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Campbell River Public Health Unit, 1100 Island Hwy.
Organized by Island Health, the event gives parents and caregivers a chance to connect, celebrate their feeding journey, access local resources and build community support.
Light refreshments will be provided, and families can enter prize draws featuring donations from local businesses and organizations, including LUSH Valley Food Action Society, Edible Island, Foundation Hair Salon, The Tea Centre, Rhodos Coffee & Bistro, Thrifty Foods and Greenways Land Trust. Public health nurses will also be on hand to offer tips.
Similar Latch-On events are being held across the region: Oct. 6 in Port McNeill and Oct. 7 in the Comox Valley.
