The Creston Valley Thunder spent the weekend playing two away games against 100 Mile House, and finally notched their first win of the season.
Friday night they lost 5 – 2 to the Wranglers, with Rylan Franklin scoring the Thunder’s two goals.
On Saturday, the Thunder won 4 – 2 on the back of an outstanding performance by goaltender Ethan Cornelius, who stopped 47 of 49 shots. Scoring for the Thunder were Cole Rolfe with two, and Eli Price and Semyon Semyonov getting a goal each.
Next up, the Thunder have a welcome weekend at home. They play Oliver on Friday, October 9, and then host Kelowna on Saturday. Puck drops at Johnny Bucyk Arena at 7 p.m. both nights.
