Known as one of the most dominant middle blockers in Canadian volleyball history, former Kelowna Senior Secondary and UBCO athlete Marisa Field has been named to the Volleyball BC Hall of Fame for the class of 2026.
Field helped the UBCO Thunderbirds win back-to-back CIS National Championships in 2008 and 2009, en route to earning the 2009 May Brown Trophy as UBC’s Outstanding Graduating Female Athlete.
On the international stage, Field represented the Senior National Team for 11 years, from 2007 to 2018, earning Best Blocker honours in 2009 and 2011 at the NORCECA Championships.
The Kelowna volleyball player also competed in two FIVB World Championships and three World Grand Prix cycles.
According to Volleyball BC, Field played in seven countries over her 11-year professional career and returned to B.C. to mentor young athletes and run youth training programs.
Field joins coach Dave Olynyk (Kamloops) and builders John Kendal and Brenda Chinn for the class of 2026.
The induction takes place at the Executive Hotel Vancouver Airport in Richmond on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m. The event will honour the 2026 Volleyball BC Hall of Fame Class and the winners of the 2026 Excellence Awards.
