Rossland Rotary welcomed more than 300 residents to its 2026 Municipal Election Candidates Forum at RSS on Monday night.
The not-for-profit community group moderated the event, and opened with all 12 candidates running for council and two mayor candidates introduce themselves.
The Rotary had Rossland residents send in questions relevant to their community, and each candidate answered two questions and were awarded a gold card to respond to others.
The questions hit all the critical spots ranging from taxation, municipal budget and finances, climate change, state of recreation facilities, and more.
The candidates running for council include Dan Eheler, Mark Godin, Craig Humpherys, Tara McDougall, Melanie Mercier, Andy Morel, Maya Provencal, Darin Recchi, Sharon Roberts, Trista Sulman, Matthew Watkins, and Jeff Weaver.
The mayoral candidates include Lisa Kwiatkowski and Janice Nightingale.
Only mayoral candidate Nightingale did not make the event, and had a friend read her introduction.
