For the love of country.

Country music fans will be saying giddy up as they hit the road for ‘The Great Canadian Road Trip Tour’ with Doc Walker, Jason McCoy, and Michelle Wright on Oct. 22

“Cowichan loves country,” said theatre marketing specialist Janelle Escott. “We want to bring people more of what they want to see in the valley, and these three Canadian country acts are sure to provide a fun night of stellar country tunes, and stories.”

It’s a ‘Beautiful Life’ when the Doc is in.

Award-winning country duo Doc Walker, comprised of Chris Thorsteinson, and Dave Wasyliw, have become one of Canada’s most beloved country music acts since forming in 1994. Over the course of three decades the dynamic duo have won a JUNO, and 14 Canadian Country Music Association awards, not to mention having 21 Top 10 Canadian country radio singles, eight No. 1 CMT videos, and millions of streams under their guitar strap. The pair’s unshakable creative partnership, and drive to explore new musical approaches has remained true since the 2001 release of their breakthrough album Curve.

Nothing quite holds a ‘Candle’ to the real McCoy.

Along for the ride on this Great Canadian Road Trip is two-time CCMA Male Vocalist of the Year award winner Jason McCoy, who is both the founder, and frontman of The Road Hammers, known as one of the best-selling bands in Canadian country music history. Since setting out on the path to stardom at the age of 19, the 25-year veteran of the entertainment industry, dubbed the king of reinvention, had racked up a Gold-certified album, a CMA Global Artist award, plus multiple CCMA and CMA awards along the way.

Sure to be ‘Another Good Day’ as you can’t go wrong, with Michelle Wright.

Earning the reputation as one of Canada’s most recognized, and awarded female country singers, 1992 was a stellar year for Wright as she became the first Canadian artist in the modern era of country music to have a Top 10 hit in America, a No. 1 video on CMT‐USA, and to be honoured with a major U.S. music industry award for Top New Female Vocalist in that same year. Since embarking on her musical journey, Wright has graced concert stages around the world, accepting more than 40 major awards including her 2011 induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. In 2022, Wright released her latest studio project Milestone, while celebrating another one: the 30th anniversary of her hit album Now & Then.

If you love country, this is one road trip you’ll want shotgun for.
