The Williams Lake Fire Department was on the scene of a duplex fire at 2nd Ave. North early Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 29.
Traffic was restricted at 2nd Avenue and Boundary St. as firefighters attended with FortisBC, BC Ambulance Service and RCMP.
Before 2:30 p.m. smoke appeared slightly visible from the upper level of the home.
Deputy Fire Chief Brendan Foote, who is also the city’s manager of fire and emergency operations, confirmed the department was dispatched at 2:01 p.m.
“The fire was contained to a room on the second floor and did not spread to the other unit,” Foote said.
Three duty trucks, two engines and a total of 19 firefighters responded.
Foote said the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
