BC NDP leader David Eby is pledging to suspend a portion of the provincial gas tax to help protect drivers from rising prices at the pumps.
Eby is in Surrey on Thursday morning (Oct. 1) making an announcement at the Surrey-Fleetwood campaign office.
Eby’s promise includes cracking down on “corporate price gouging” to help save drivers up to 30 cents a litre and as much as $20 on every tank of gas.
“Big oil and gas companies have been exploiting conflicts overseas to make record profits, leaving ordinary drivers and truckers paying the price every time they fill up,” Eby said in a media release.
More to come.
